We are thrilled to celebrate the incredible achievements of Maindy Flyers’ very own Dan Davies, who represented Team GB at the 2025 European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) in Skopje, North Macedonia.
Dan produced a truly outstanding performance on the international stage, proudly flying the flag not only for Great Britain but for Maindy Flyers as well. Competing against some of the best young talent in Europe, Dan demonstrated exceptional skill, composure, and determination, hallmarks of a rider who has honed his craft through years of dedication and hard work.
His selection for the EYOF is a remarkable accomplishment in itself, reflecting the consistency and talent he has shown throughout the season. To then go on and deliver such a high-level performance on the European stage is testament to Dan’s commitment, professionalism, and passion for the sport.

🥉 Road Race – Bronze Medal
In a fast and fiercely contested road race finale, he powered his way to a bronze medal for Team GB. With only three seconds separating the top four riders, Dan held his position brilliantly in the closing stages to edge out Slovakia’s Timotej Michalik and take third in 1:16:03.
His bronze medal was one of two earned by the British cycling team on the final day of the Festival and a fitting reward for his consistency, racecraft, and tenacity.

🇬🇧 A Rising Star of British Cycling
Dan’s achievements in Skopje confirm his place among Europe’s top junior cyclists and mark a major milestone in what promises to be an exciting career. As one of just three Welsh riders selected for the prestigious event, his performances brought immense pride to Maindy Flyers.
Dan’s journey from the track at Maindy Velodrome to the international stage is a powerful inspiration to our next generation of riders.
“We’ve watched Dan grow from a promising young rider into a world-class competitor,” said Head Coach Richard Price.
“His performances at EYOF are a credit to his work ethic and love for the sport. He’s a fantastic role model for the younger Flyers coming through and we couldn’t be prouder of what he’s achieved, not just this week, but over the years he’s been with us.”
Congratulations, Dan, you’ve done your club and your country proud!
