Christmas Cross / Welsh Cyclo-Cross League Final ( hosted by Maindy Flyers )

This is the time to get out the glitter, the tinsel and your Santa hat; it’s Welsh Cyclo-Cross League Final promoted by Wales premier youth cycling club Maindy Flyers.
The races take place at Blackweir Park, just across the road from the Headquarters at Maindy Pool. The first race starts at 10.45

Following the success of last season; when entries to cyclo cross races in Wales increased by 30% - the format remains the same so there are categories for Under 8, Under 10, Under 12, Under 14, and Under 16.

If you’ve raced at Blackwier before then you’ll remember how much you enjoyed it, if you’ve not previously raced here then don’t miss it because it’s a great event and one where everyone that takes part gets something.
Why not try to persuade the adults to have a go. Some of the less determined athletes might like to take advantage of the mulled wine that is offered on every lap. The course builder will make the laps longer this year as there was a rumour going round that a senior/vet that rode last time lapped so quickly and drank so often that they fell asleep on a bench in the park.
The competition was close throughout last season and even with the finish in sight there is always a chance that things can change, it went right to the wire again with the winner of the league not being decided until this final race.
There’s the league presentation straight afterwards at Maindy Pool where hot showers, a bike wash facility and first class refreshments are available. So for an event that produces a tremendous atmosphere come and enjoy an extra bit of seasonal fun with Maindy Flyers.
