The first session went very well even though, due to the weather, some couldn't make it. Another informal session will take place in the lecture room at Maindy cycle track on 24th July 2008, 6pm - 8pm. We will recap on some of the items covered at the first session (who's who, licences, signing on) and look at other areas e.g child protection, points races (a popular request), the points system (licences), tips on how to 'judge' a race. Alan Davis and I are always approaching parents and anyone else who stands still for long enough, to help out when we and others we know, put on races. (as some of you know!!!) It might be to help with signing on, or to check gears, help with judging, help recording results, catering etc etc.

Due to a change in the way Welsh Cycling have structured their hours we now have one session a month from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on the first Wednesday of every month, starting 6/2/08. On the last Wednesday of every month James Taylor will running coach led racing, so that’s 2 sessions a month, get ready to go fast! I appreciate a 6:00pm start could be difficult for some and I suggest parents get together on the track side and start organising some lift sharing. When it starts to get lighter I’m hoping Andrew can arrange with a few of you to ride over, but this depends on his new Uni timetable, which he hasn’t had yet.
