A
few words of advice from the coach. "This is how not to begin at
track"
The Cycling World according to Alan
Tips of the week
-
Do you keep a record of your height? A line
on the door frame perhaps. Don’t forget when the line goes
up you need to check your saddle height.
-
A race cannot be won in the first 50 metres,
but it can be lost.
-
Always check your cleats before you
travel to the race, and take spares.
-
Make a list of things you need at a race, and
check the list before you leave home.
-
Set your bike up not to exceed your racing
gear, then leave it alone. Remember if you can’t race
on it why train on it?
-
Sneak a look at the signing on sheet before
the race starts. Know who you’re racing against.
-
Keep a note of your personal best times,
flying 200m, 500m, etc. Always try to improve them when the
chance arises.
